How Littlebird works.

Core architecture

Littlebird is a work-memory assistant for Mac, Windows, web and mobile. It reads the active window on your screen, can take notes in meetings you choose, and connects to Gmail, Calendar, Outlook, Notion and Drive so it can answer questions and take actions across your work.

Under the hood

Captured context is encrypted and stored in Littlebird’s cloud on AWS (US-East) and sent to the AI providers listed in its Trust Center. It does not record video or log keystrokes, and it excludes passwords, card details and banking sites.

The honest trade-offs.

What Littlebird does well

  • Works across every app with no setup, focusing on the window you are using.
  • Bot-free meeting notes for meetings you choose to capture.
  • Available on Mac, Windows, web, iOS and Android.

Where it breaks down

  • Your work memory lives in the cloud

Screen context is stored on Littlebird’s servers. Its own privacy page says people who need local-only systems may not be a good fit.

  • No offline mode

Recall and answers depend on cloud storage and cloud AI providers.

  • Not built around dictation

Littlebird drafts text for you, but it is not documented as a hold-a-key dictation tool that types into any app.

Tyne

Unlimited on-device dictation, free forever ($0). Plus is $4.99/month ($49/year); Turbo is $9.99/month ($95/year); Turbo Plus ($19.99/month) is coming soon.

Where Tyne differs.

Choose Tyne if you want the memory without the upload. Tyne keeps saved notes, meeting transcripts and optional screen text in an encrypted vault.enc on your Mac, transcribes your voice locally, and lets you switch to Local Only so new requests never leave the machine. On Turbo in Balanced mode, Loom Turbo receives only the relevant excerpts for an answer.

On Turbo, Balanced mode is the default. Loom Turbo can process relevant note, document or screen content for supported answers and reports. Local Only keeps new request content on your Mac.
