Refund Policy

Effective Date: August 13, 2026

Last Updated: October 23, 2026

1. General Policy

Except where required by applicable consumer protection law or in the case of a verified billing error (Section 4), payments to Tyne for subscription plans (such as Plus and Turbo) are final and non-refundable. We do not provide partial or prorated credits for unused time or unused cloud action allowances when you cancel or downgrade partway through a billing period. Because Tyne's Free plan has no time limit or word cap, we encourage you to evaluate on-device dictation and vault workflows on Free before upgrading.

2. What Happens When You Cancel

You may cancel your subscription at any time (see How to Cancel below). Cancelling does not end your access immediately and does not trigger a refund. Instead:

  • Your plan stops auto-renewing — you will not be charged again.
  • You keep full access to your current paid plan's features for the remainder of the billing period you already paid for, through your next scheduled renewal date.
  • When that period ends, your plan automatically moves to the Free plan — no action is required from you, and no further charge is made.

In short: you always get what you already paid for, and nothing more is billed once you cancel.

3. Plan Downgrades

Downgrading to a lower-priced plan is not treated as a refund event. If you downgrade, the change applies at your next renewal date so you keep the plan you paid for until then. We do not credit or refund the price difference for the period already billed at the higher plan.

4. Failed or Disputed Payments

If a renewal payment fails, our payment processor (Dodo Payments) may retry the charge. If payment cannot be collected, your subscription status is marked accordingly and your account is moved to the Free plan — this is not a refund and does not entitle you to a credit for the failed period.

If you believe you were charged in error — for example a duplicate charge caused by a system or processor fault — contact us at support@tyne.in and we will investigate and refund genuine billing errors.

5. Chargebacks

Please contact us before filing a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer — we can typically resolve billing questions directly and faster. Accounts associated with unwarranted chargebacks may be suspended pending resolution.

6. How to Cancel

You can cancel self-serve at any time from your Account Billing page (via the Dodo Payments customer portal), or email support@tyne.in from the address on your subscription and ask us to cancel. We will stop the renewal and confirm the date your current paid period ends. Everything on your Mac that runs on the Free plan, including unlimited local dictation and your encrypted vault, continues working after your paid period ends.
